CATHEDRAL MANSIONS LIVING GUIDE

Laundry:

• located in the basement
• 8 regular washers, 1 oversized washer (cost $1.75) and 7 dryers
• A laundry card can be purchased for the initial charge of $4.00, which covers the cost of the card and starts with a $2.00 balance; the $2.00 cost of the card is a one time only fee and money can be added to the card at any time.
• A wash cycle is $.75 and $.25 per dry cycle (each dry cycle is 8 minutes; average dry time is three cycles at a cost of $.75 per load).

Trash/Recycling

• Recycling located behind Cathedral Mansions. See Recycling Flier
• Trash room is located in the basement; dumpsters are also available behind Cathedral Mansions.

Parking

• Street parking with a J permit. Residents can get proof of residency from Housing and Dining Services, which can be taken to the Pittsburgh Parking Authority to purchase a permit decal. Emergency

• Mon – Thurs before 7 pm, Fri before 5 pm contact University Housing and Dining at 412-268-2139
• Weekdays after 7 pm and weekends contact University Police at 412-268-2323 for any emergency, including facilities problems, lock-outs or medical concerns. You may also see any of the RAs in the x12 apartments on floors 3-7 or the community advisor in apartment 414.

Facilities

• 24-hour key access available to the first floor lounge. Couches, study tables and a TV/VCR/DVD are available for resident-use. Games and other rec supplies can be checked out through your RA
• Internet is provided by Comcast Cable Company
• If you have problems with your cable or internet contact Comcast directly
• If Comcast does not respond appropriately please contact Telecomm 8-8500
• Vending machine is located in the basement laundry room.
• Packages can be mailed directly to Cathedral Mansions at 4716 Ellsworth. Include your apartment number and check for your delivery at the front desk. All Carnegie Mellon mail will be sent to your SMC.
• Desk staff is available 24 hours a day to help maintain the security of the building. Please ask friends and visitors to sign in with the desk staff when they come to visit.
• Visitors may use the lobby phone to call your apartment (at the phone number assigned by housing) so you can buzz them in by pressing 4 on your landline phone. If you do not want to be listed on the published buzzer code posting, contact our community advisor.
• Backyard green space is available for resident use by checking out a key at the front desk.
