| LEAD-BASED PAINT DISCLOSURE
NOTE TO RESIDENTS: To fully comply with the Federal EPA regulations regarding communications about use of lead-based paint in residential facilities, the following information is provided to all residents of campus-owned and leased apartment style housing specifically Cathedral Mansions, Doherty, Fairfax Apartments, London Terrace, Roselawn, Shady Oak Apartments, Shirley, Veronica, Webster Hall, and Woodlawn. Residents are asked to read and verify with their signature the statements below as part of their housing license agreement. Lead Warning Statement: Housing built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint. Lead from paint, paint chips, and dust can pose health hazards if not managed properly. Lead exposure is especially harmful to young children and pregnant women. Before renting pre-1978 housing, lessors must disclose the presence of known lead-based paint and/or lead-based paint hazards in the dwelling. Lessees must also receive a federally approved pamphlet on lead poisoning prevention. Lessor's Disclosure: Carnegie Mellon University has no knowledge of lead-based paint and/or lead-based paint hazards in this leased housing. Carnegie Mellon University has no reports or records pertaining to lead-based paint and/or lead-based paint hazards in this leased housing. Lessee's Acknowledgment: As lessee, I understand that Carnegie Mellon University does not have any report or records pertaining to lead-based paint hazards in my leased housing. I acknowledge that I have received the pamphlet entitled, Protect Your Family from Lead in Your Home.
