Dear Residents of Cathedral Mansions,

I have received a few inquiries concerning heat for Catman. I have been in touch with the building maintenance supervisor since the beginning of last week on this issue, first to question the type of heat the building provides and the status of it's operation.

At that time I was informed that the building has a steam heat system that during the off season is shut down to conserve energy. The decision as to when to turn the boiler on is based on weather forecasting. They watch to see when there is a consistent dropping of temperatures. This is done due to the fact that once it is on, it will remain on until this reverses in the spring. The concern being that if it is turned on too soon there will be complaints of too much heat in the apartments. The work to prepare the boiler for operation had already been underway at the time I spoke with the building supervisor.

I spoke with a building representative just yesterday Wednesday the 13th and was informed that the hope was to have the boiler operational by the upcoming weekend.
