To assist students with packing and shipping belongings, Postal Services is providing the ‘Student Packup Service’. This service is located in the lower level of the University Center in the package pick up area.
The dates and times are as follows:
Wednesday May 4 from 10-6 pm
Thursday, May 5 from 10-6 pm
Friday, May 6 from 10-6 pm
Saturday, May 7 from 10 am ? 3 pm
Monday, May 9 from 10-6 pm
Tuesday, May 10 from 10-6 pm
Wednesday, May 11 from 10-6 pm
Thursday, May 12 from 10-6 pm
Friday, May 13 from 10-6 pm
Saturday, May 14 from 10 am- 3 pm
**Various box sizes; bubble wrap and shipping tape will be available for sale.
**Computers must be in the original boxes.
**Dollies will be available to help you transport your boxes from your dorm
room.
**All UPS services will be offered, International and domestic to residential
or business addresses. UPS does not ship to a P.O. Box.
**$100 of insurance is included; additional insurance may be purchased.
**No package may weigh more than 70 lbs.
**No package can measure more than 130 inches length and girth.
**Cash or Checks with a valid Driver's License are accepted.
**There is a $5.00 handling charge per package
**Carnegie Mellon Postal Services is not responsible for packages damaged by
UPS or for returns because of incorrect address. If you have any problems with
your packages or deliveries, please contact UPS Customer Service at 1-800-742-5877.
Helpful hints for packing your valuables.
**Evenly distribute the weight of items in the box
**Make sure breakable items are properly wrapped (we suggest bubble wrap)
**Secure items with sufficient packing materials to prevent them from shifting
**Recheck and verify you have the correct address.
**Insure valuable items
Note: UPS will not reimburse you for damaged boxes if you do not pack properly.
