Dear Residents of West Wing and Resnik,
The heating units in your rooms work by having hot water flow through them.
When you set your temperature control and fan control the unit should
maintain a temperature that suits your personnel preference. When controls
do not work properly you need to go to the housing web site and following
the directions enter a maintenance request to have the unit repaired. When
your room is too hot you should not open a window to cool the space. This
causes the water coil in the unit to freeze, burst and flood your space and
each space below it. There have been two instances within a week where this
has happened. If a window is left open, you could be billed for the repairs
to the unit and any damage as a result of the unit freezing.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Steve Gergely
Facility Coordinator
