Dear Residents of Boss and McGill,
The physical work for the sprinkler system is complete. The last phase of
this project is to insure the City of Pittsburgh that all of the alarms
associated with this job work as they are intended to.
This Friday January 17th 2003, from 9:00 a.m. until noon the city inspector
will be in working with the contractor to test each device used to report
an alarm. During this test the fire alarms will sound when each flow and
tamper switch is tested in the building. Once this is complete and as long as
all devices report as designed this project will be officially done.
The Housing Services office appreciates your cooperation and understanding
during this project. The upgrades to the building i.e. new lighting, new
ceilings, painted corridors, the front stairwell walls and handrails being
painted and most importantly the Life Safety factor of the project
demonstrate the Universities desire to continue making dormitory life here
as safe and pleasurable as possible.
Thank you.
Steve Gergely
Facility Coordinator
