Donner Residents,
Welcome Back! The fire suppression installation is under way as you are
aware. I will be updating you weekly on what areas and rooms will be
affected by construction for that week. I ask that you exercise caution as
you walk through the areas in which construction is taking place. I ask
that you notify your RA, Housefellow or Housing Services, if you see
something that you think is unsafe. If you see something that is life
threatening (ex. sparks, smoke) call campus police immediately.
The old ceilings have been removed in all the hallways and the new ceiling
structure is going up on the third floor. The work will progress from the
3rd floor down to B level.
The work schedule for the week of January 13, 2003 will affect the 3rd
floor hallways and resident rooms. The rooms affected starting January 16th
will be rooms 330 - 341 and on January 17th rooms 317 - 329. The work will
mostly affect the ceiling area between the two closets where the steel
framework will be mounted for the new bulkheads. Please make sure that
there is a clear 4' floor path inside your room from your door, so that the
workers can access that area. The time in each room will be minimal at this
point.
I wanted to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during
the installation of a fire suppression system. I will continue to send you
weekly construction updates to keep you informed of the progress.
Sincerely,
Thom Thornton
Housing Services Facility Coordinator
