Dear Residents,

With the approach of cooler temperatures, FMS personnel have started
activating housing and campus building heating systems. Their plan
is to insure that all heating systems are fully functional by 4:00pm,
Tuesday October 15, 2002.

The night temperatures are expected to drop to the 30s. The day
temperatures are expected to drop to the 50s and 60s by next week.
This change in weather will be significant and it is important that
we begin heating the buildings as quickly as possible.

It is also important to understand that after the heat is on it can
not be turned off. The heat will remain on until spring shut down and
in most residence halls it can be controlled by a thermostat located
within the apartment. If you have any questions please contact your
facility coordinator and they will be more than happy to help.

We thank you for your patience during this transition period.

Sincerely,

Louis McCauley
Assistant Director For Facilities
