Good Afternoon Residents of McGill and Boss Hall,
Today was spent setting up a few areas of staging for the
workers.
They had a dumpster and job box delivered to the site and
began removing a few of the ceiling tiles on the ground
level in the recreational area of Boss. You will notice
the protective plastic on the floor, that needs to remain
in place until that area is complete. They will also be
using drop cloths on the furniture in the area to protect
it from dust and debris.
Tomorrow they will continue the removal of ceiling tile and
begin the removal of the grid, and could begin the removal
of ceiling tile and grid from the first floor corridor. As
they continue their work you will notice what are called work
lights being used for lighting. The decision was made to
install a gypsum board ceiling as opposed to reinstalling a
drop ceiling. This will also eliminate the fluorescent lighting
along the side walls of the corridors. There will be downlights
installed in the center of the corridors in their place.
I will keep you updated on a frequent basis through this job and
let you know how the work is going.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this very
important project.
Steve Gergely
Facility Coordinator
