Dear Resnik, West Wing, Donner and Mudge residents,

Last week I wrote to inform you that we had removed the Diebold card
readers at your buildings' entrances for financial and maintenance reasons.
I have received enough feedback from residents and staff that I have
reversed that decision, and the card readers have now been reinstalled and
are working again.  (The two card readers on the West Wing game room and TV
room have been turned off for some time and will not be reinstalled.)

These Diebold readers are no longer supported by the manufacturer and there
is concern about our ability to keep them operating.  But for now at least,
they are back and can be used as before.

I will be revisiting the access issues for your buildings with your
housefellows and SDC during this year targeting a potential change during
summer 2003.
