Dear Doherty Apartments Residents,

I'm writing to explain the electrical outage that occurred this morning in
your building.

On Monday evening Duquesne Light had a scheduled outage in Doherty to
transfer the building to new feeder circuits to make room for a new
electrical service to Morewood Gardens and the new residence hall on
Morewood Avenue.

Last night DQE discovered that some of the equipment installed on Monday
for the new circuit connections for Doherty were failing, and an
unscheduled outage was required to replace those components before they
failed completely.

We appreciate your understanding.  There should be no need for further
outages unless something else fails unrelated to the current work.
