Dear Oakland Residents,
We have confirmed with Telerama, our DSL provider, that all the constraints
to providing full DSL services to your apartments are now resolved. If you
are properly configured and using Telerama DSL services, you should not be
experiencing delays or slow downs beyond the norm at this time. If you are
still having difficulties configuring, connecting or using your DSL
service, please contact the Telerama Help Desk at 412-688-3200 or
1-877-688-3200 toll-free. Technicians are waiting to walk you through a
proper set up and help trouble-shoot problems.
If you have not picked up your modem, hub and line filters for your
telephone connections, please come to the housing office during our office
hours, Monday-Thursday 8:30am -7pm and Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
From previous instructions in your check in packet and on Telerama's
website, you should know that you are required to register your machines on
the Telerama network to get a static IP address and to access the pool of
available dynamic IP addresses. Registration was suspended during the ramp
up process since August, but registration is now required to keep your
connection.
Unregistered machines will be bumped off the Telerama network on Monday,
October 22, 2001 at noon. Please take the opportunity before then to
register or verify your registration by calling the Telerama Help Desk at
the numbers above or by registering on-line at
http://netreg.cmuhousing.telerama.com/
Thank you.
Regards,
Tim Michael
