Subject: Morewood Elevator & Sprinkler Update

Dear Morewood Gardens Residents,
This is an update of the work taking place in A and B Towers in preparation
for the new sprinkler system and elevators. Volpatt Construction is the
General Contractor who will be performing the work and the sub-contractors
are James E. Huckestein Inc., ICE, and Miller Electric.
Phase one of this work has begun with the demolition of the hallway
ceilings and the repositioning of the lights for the sprinkler pipe
installation. All
work will start at 9:00am with the majority of the work in the hallways and
common areas. The only work in student rooms will be measuring the space
for eventual pipe installation. James E. Huckesteins Inc will be on the 7th
floor of B tower and 6th floor of A and B tower thru Wednesday September
19, 2001 and then start the 5th floor of A and B tower Thursday September
20,
2001. This process will take 15 minutes per student room and no students
personal effects will need to be moved. For the residents in A and B
Towers, please be mindful that there is construction being done and to be
careful when entering or exiting your living space.
While the D Tower elevator is off-line for replacement, please use the A, B
or C tower elevator whenever possible.
