Dear Oakland Community Residents,
Although the DSL service for our Oakland residents in Cathedral
Mansions, Fairfax, Webster and London Terrace Apartments is being
provided and supported thru Telerama Public Internet Services this year,
Housing Services still provides and owns the DSL modem equipment. We
are currently reviewing the distribution process of our DSL modems, and
want to make sure everyone has the equipment they need in order to take
advantage of the DSL service.
By now, all apartments should have a DSL modem in their possession,
with a few exceptions. If your apartment does not currently have
a DSL modem & ethernet mini-hub, please respond to this email. There
may also be instances where residents signed out new DSL equipment, when
in most cases there was already DSL equipment in the apartment (possibly
stored in a closet). There is no need to have more than one modem, and
it is not technically possible to use more than one DSL modem on any one
phone number. If you inadvertently ended up with more than one modem,
please return one to Housing as soon as possible.
This message is only for the purpose of the DSL modem distribution
process. Other messages concerning DSL will follow shortly, and
additional DSL updates are also available at
http://cmuhousing.telerama.com/. If you have technical questions about
your DSL connection, please contact Telerama directly at 412-688-3200.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dave Lubovinsky
Coordinator of Housing Technology & IS
