eSuds is the name of our new web-based monitoring system, first piloted nationally at Carnegie Mellon in Spring 2004. With eSuds, all the laundry rooms with a "Y" below can be viewed virtually on a website so students can look for open machines and can also monitor the progress of washer and dryer cycles in progress. The system will even send an email or text message to a cell phone when a cycle is complete if the user registers on the eSuds.net website. This is just one more effort to make living on campus ever more convenient for our residents.
Self-Service Laundry
Carnegie Mellon has contracted with Caldwell and Gregory Laundry Services, Inc. to provide state-of-the-art laundry machines within our residential houses. Maytag Energy Star-rated front-load Neptune washers and commercial stack dryers are available in the following locations:

Washers and dryers are located in other locations (i.e. Greek Housing system); however they are not accessible to the general campus community.
Coin Change Locations
Most vending machines on campus also function as change machines, please follow the instructions on the front of each machine. There is also a change machine available at Morewood Gardens desk.
Rates
For most residents, a laundry fee has been added to your room rates so washers and dryers start with a swipe of your Carnegie Mellon card. Residents of Cathedral Mansions, Fairfax, Webster, London Terrace, Shady Oaks, Saxony and James Manor use coin-operated machines.
Summer Laundry
Summer rates for central campus are $1.00/$1.00 for a wash/dry cycle.

Dry Cleaning Service
Through our business partnership with Magic Cleaners, we are able to provide students, faculty and staff with a professional, reliable and affordable dry-cleaning service. Please call (412) 268-8878 or email univhous@andrew.cmu.edu to arrange for dry cleaning services. The usual turnaround time (pending when the request is placed) for dry cleaning is 72 hours.
