FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How can I get a platform bed (a.k.a loft unit) for my room?
A: All available platform beds and loft units are placed in the residences at the beginning of the school year. Because of the popularity of these loft units, lofts are rarely returned to Housing Services.

There are no extra units and in some buildings there are no platform beds installed (this depends on factors such as the height of the ceilings in the building, room dimensions and other furniture configurations). Where applicable a student may make a switch with a resident of the same building provided they send this request to the housing office via the maintenance request system. The Housing crew will then complete the work necessary to move these bed units. Students should not move these bed units.

Home Constructed Lofts:

Residents may receive permission to construct a loft in their room by following the guidelines set forth in the Housing Services Loft Registration Policy.
