Campus residents,

This message contains useful information about campus dining and transportation during Thanksgiving Break.

CAMPUS DINING HOURS
You may access the campus dining venue hours for Thanksgiving Break at <http://www.housing.cmu.edu/dining/thanksgivinghours.htm>

SHUTTLE & ESCORT SERVICES
There will be no Oakland shuttle service, and no nighttime Escort service on Thursday, November 24th, or Friday, November 25th, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.  Oakland shuttle service will resume on Saturday, November 26th, at 6:45am.  Nighttime Escort service will resume on Saturday, November 27th, at 6:30pm.

TRAVEL BY CAR
If you are traveling by car over the upcoming holiday, please keep in mind that this is one of the most heavily traveled American holidays. So expect significantly higher than normal volumes of traffic on both interstate highways and secondary roads.  Also, local and state law enforcement agencies will be out in force nationwide, strictly enforcing speed limits and looking for drunk drivers.  Most state police agencies work mandatory extra overtime hours over Thanksgiving, funded by grants from the U.S. DOT and NHTSA.  If you are going to drink and drive this Thanksgiving holiday, please pick someone as a "designated driver" or better yet, tell your host(s) you're "staying for the night."

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you an enjoyable and safe Thanksgiving holiday.

Regards,

Housing and Dining Services
