Room Draw 2005 is here!

Your Room Draw 2005 packet will arrive in your mailbox early next week.
Please retrieve these materials and read them thoroughly as this
information is vitally important to successfully participating in the Room
Draw process. Special attention should be given to all published time lines.

The first important date is FEBRUARY 24, 2005, the deadline for meeting the
housing reservation fee requirement. To meet the reservation fee
requirement, you must confirm the charge of the reservation fee to your
student account online via our web site at
http://www.housing.cmu.edu/roomdraw/. Andrew authentication is used to
access the reservation fee confirmation page.

This charge will not post to your student account until July 2005 in time
for your fall 2005 student account statement. It is important for anyone
who wants housing for fall 2005, to confirm the charge of the reservation
fee by FEBRUARY 24, 2005 to qualify to participate in any other phases of
Room Draw.

To reserve your current assignment, return your retention form to Housing
Services, Morewood E Tower, by FEBRUARY 24, 2005. Remember, if you are
retaining your room you will need to bring your completed housing license
agreement. Other addenda may also be required depending on your residential
area. Students residing in Forbes House, Hamerschlag House, Morewood
Gardens E Tower, New House and designated first-year floors are ineligible
to retain, as these areas will remain first-year housing only.

Please be sure that as you go through the packet, you have one of each of
the following and that you bring the appropriate forms with you if you
participate in any retention phase:

Room Draw Brochure
2005/2006 Rate Sheet
Housing License Agreement
Room Retention Form

The first and most important step is for you to read all the materials
supplied to you. We recognize that Room Draw can be a complex process for
some, as such, we attempt to make the written materials as comprehensive
and clear as possible. If you have additional questions, please attend one
of the informational sessions highlighted in the Room Draw literature or
contact Housing Services and a staff person will be happy to assist you.
Your RA can serve as an information source in addition to the Room Draw
Resource Page located at http://www.housing.cmu.edu/roomdraw/.

Best wishes for a successful Room Draw!

Sincerely,

Adria Greene
