THIS WEEK IN DINING
FEBRUARY 5 -- 11, 2007
This newsletter is available in PDF format @
http://www.cmu.edu/dining/pdfs/thisWeek/TWIDfeb5_11_07.pdf
Don1t forget your hat, scarf and gloves as you head out this week. You
can always warm up with coffee from Skibo and a free flavor shot this
month.
MEAL PLAN CHANGE PERIOD - This week is your last chance to change your
meal plan. The meal plan change period officially ends Wednesday, 2/7,
at 4:59 pm.
Here's how it works:
-Look over your current meal plan. How's your mix of blocks and DineX
working for you during these first two weeks?
-Check out your options. You are permitted to change your plan *within*
or *above* your current meal plan. For instance:
--If you have an A-level plan, you can only switch to another plan in
the green group.
--If you have a B-level plan, you can switch to another blue plan or pay
more to get a green plan, and so on...
-Fill out the correct form! First year students can go online to access
the meal plan change form at: https://bizservweb.pc.cc.cmu.edu/changeform/changeform.aspx
(also linked from the Housing and Dining Websites)
--Oakland residents, upper-class students, and Greek system transfers,
please stop by Housing and Dining Services for assistance.
You are free to change your meal plan multiple times during the period,
but the meal plan on record for you at 5:00p on February 7, 2007, will
remain your meal plan for the rest of the semester.
MEAL PLAN INFORMATION is available on our website, and a copy of the
current Plaid Plan contract is available at http://www.cmu.edu/dining/pdfs/plans/Dining_First_YearContract.pdf.
The WEBSITE also features a listing of the menus, Create-A-Block options,
hours, and location of each of our dining venues. Updates for our newer
locations are being posted, so check it out for the latest specials and
news!
CASH-OUT WEEKEND
This weekend marks another cash-out weekend. Your two-week allocation
of DineX will reset after Sunday evening and will *not* roll over, so
be sure to use as much of your balance as possible and get the most value
out of your meal plan. Stock up on beverages and snacks from popular locations
such as The Carnegie Mellon Café, Skibo Café, The Underground,
The UC Gallery, and many more! You don't have to wait until Sunday to
spend the DineX, though... Start your cash out when it's convenient for
you, but leave enough to get you through the weekend. Don1t forget, Andy1s
will be
open for cash-out weekend on Sunday, February 11, from 9a -- 4p.
HOT SPOT
This week1s hot spot is the MAGGIE MURPH CAFÉ. Refuel with a fresh
Starbucks coffee or drink, a fresh muffin, cookie, or cinnamon roll from
the on-campus Carnegie Mellon Bakery. If you don1t have time to stop and
sit down for lunch, the café offers on-the-go sandwiches, soup,
salad and other healthy options. The café is open:
Monday - Thursday: 8a -- 1a
Friday: 8a -- 8p
Saturday: 10a -- 8p
Sunday: Noon -- 1a
PREMIUM ENTRÉES
This week the BENTO BOWL premium entrée is the Teriyaki Flat Iron
Steak with toasted Sesame Seeds. The SEQUOIA GRILLE is featuring delicious
Buffalo Wings. The CARNEGIE MELLON CAFÉ at Resnik's newest premium
entrée is a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich. It's being served for lunch
all week long, so make sure to give it a try.
If you are not in the mood for a premium entrée this week, all
locations have many other hot and made-to-order items on the menu. As
always, you can enjoy a premium entrée as a block with a few additional
dollars of Dine Xtra.
THIS WEEK AT SCHATZ
It's a busy week at Schatz Dining Room! There are four different All You
Care To Eat specials. Tuesday, February 6, from 5p -- 8p is the Premium
Entrée Night. Wednesday, February 7, Schatz will be celebrating
February birthdays from 5p -- 8p. Thursday, February 8, will be a soul
food dinner from 5p -- 8p. Finally, there will be a Pro Bowl Luau Brunch
from 10:30a -- 2p on Sunday, February 11.
EARLY CLOSING IN NEWELL SIMON
This Friday, February 9, Asiana & Mitchell's Mainstreet Market will
both be closing at 3p due to a college function in the evening.
