THIS WEEK IN DINING
JANUARY 29 – FEBRUARY 4, 2007
This newsletter is available in PDF @
http://www.cmu.edu/dining/pdfs/thisWeek/TWIDjan29_feb4_07.pdf
The MEAL PLAN CHANGE PERIOD begins TODAY, Monday, January 29, at 8:30a,
and
concludes Wednesday, February 7, at 4:59p. These eight business days are
your opportunity to adjust your meal plan to better meet your needs.
Here's how it works:
-Look over your current meal plan. How's your mix of blocks and DineX
working for you during these first two weeks?
-Check out your options. You are permitted to change your plan *within*
or
*above* your current meal plan. For instance:
--If you have an A-level plan, you can only switch to another plan in
the
green group.
--If you have a B-level plan, you can switch to another blue plan or pay
more to get a green plan, and so on...
-Fill out the correct form! First year students can go online to access
the meal plan change form at:
https://bizservweb.pc.cc.cmu.edu/changeform/changeform.aspx (also linked
from the Housing and Dining Websites)
--Oakland residents, upper-class students, and Greek system transfers,
please stop by Housing and Dining Services for assistance.
You are free to change your meal plan multiple times during the period,
but
the meal plan on record for you at 5:00p on February 7, 2007, will remain
your meal plan for the rest of the semester.
MEAL PLAN INFORMATION is available on our website, and a copy of the current
Plaid Plan contract is available at
http://www.cmu.edu/dining/pdfs/plans/Dining_First_YearContract.pdf. The
WEBSITE also features a listing of the menus, Create-A-Block options,
hours, and location of each of our dining venues. Updates for our newer
locations are being posted, so check it out for the latest specials and
news!
Just as a reminder, there are three or four MEAL BLOCK periods each day,
as
outlined in your dining contract. They are:
Breakfast, Monday-Friday, 3:01a-10:30a.
Lunch, Monday-Friday, 10:31a-4:00p.
Dinner, Monday-Sunday, 4:01p-8:00p.
Late Night, Monday-Sunday, 8:01p-3:00a.
Brunch, Saturday & Sunday, 8:00a-4:00p.
SOUPER BOWL VEGETARIAN SOUP BREAD BOWL. This week in honor of the upcoming
Super Bowl, Dining Services is offering a “souper bowl” vegetarian
bread
bowl at Penne’s International Market. The bread bowl retails at
$7.75, or
it is available as a lunch block. This vegetarian entrée is offered
for a
limited time only, so pick up yours this week before it's gone!
HOT SPOT
The second HOT SPOT of the semester is Skibo Coffee House. Skibo is a
favorite among many students for the late hours, great pizzas, and the
endless supply of coffee. For the month of February, Skibo will be offering
a free flavor shot to any coffee or espresso. Skibo is open every day
from 9a until 2a. As the weather gets colder and you find yourself up
late studying – a flavored coffee from Skibo just might be what
you need.
PREMIUM ENTRÉES
This week the BENTO BOWL premium entrée is Triple Delicacy Combo,
featuring
Jumbo Shrimp, Beef, and Chicken in Garlic Sauce. The SEQUOIA GRILLE is
featuring a delicious Grilled Cajun Strip Steak with various sides available
daily. The CARNEGIE MELLON CAFÉ at Resnik's newest premium entrée
is a Rachael Sandwich with Cole Slaw. It's being served for lunch all
week long, so make sure to give it a try.
If you are not in the mood for a premium entrée this week, all
locations
have many other hot and made-to-order items on the menu. As always, you
can enjoy a premium entrée as a block with a few additional dollars
of Dine
Xtra.
THIS WEEK AT SCHATZ
Schatz will be offering a premium entrée on Wednesday, January
31st from 5p
– 8p. Stop by for this week's gourmet special, Roasted Prime Rib.
The menu will also feature plenty of sides so you can enjoy a night out
for great steak!
