Dear Residents:
We are pleased to announce that the Room Change Process for the 06-07
academic year has begun. If you are interested in a room change,
please pick up a Room Change Form from the Housing and Dining
Services (HDS) Office located in Morewood Gardens, E-Tower 1st Floor.
All sections of the form must be complete in order to be eligible for
a room change. Remember, room changes during the academic year are
made on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Please be aware that at this time, there are limited vacancies within
the campus housing system, especially for male spaces. We expect
additional spaces to become available later in the academic year, so
you should be prepared for the process to be slow at first and then
pick up as room changes occur.
Some frequently asked questions:
"What if I currently have a vacancy and would like to pull someone
in?"
- Please contact the Assignments Staff at rmassign@andrew.cmu.edu by
5PM on Wednesday, September 27, to inquire about feasibility.
"What if I just want to swap rooms?"
- If you know someone that wants to trade rooms with you, you can
also stop by the Housing and Dining Services office and pick-up a
Room Swap Form. Once this form is completed and returned to HDS, you
will be contacted about the feasibility of the swap within a few
days. Please DO NOT swap rooms until you receive notification from
Housing & Dining Services. (Note: Because of the high demand for
single rooms, room swaps involving singles will not be
approved.)
"What about the room change request I submitted during Room Draw
2005?"
(attn: Sophomores, Juniors, and Senior)
- You were contacted at the beginning of the semester and given a
response deadline to keep your request active. If you didn't
communicate your intentions by the deadline, you should complete a
new room change request that will be processed in the order in which
it is received.
